Kozaemon Sakura Nama

Class (Type): Junmai Ginjo (Nama)
Brewery (Region): Nakashima (Mizunami, Gifu)

小左衛門 桜 生
純米吟醸(生)
中島酒造(瑞浪、岐阜)

‘Nama' translates as 'raw'. As the name of Kozaemon Sakura Nama thus reveals, this Junmai Ginjo is pasteurized only once, which makes this sake particularly alive.

Already the nose surprises citrus-fresh and fruity with aromas of ripe strawberries, melon and banana, combined with a flattering yeast smell and a warm sweetness reminiscent of Gugelhopf (cake).

On the palate, this medium-bodied and slightly mineral sake indulges with creamy smoothness and exciting complexity. Fresh and fruity-sweet notes of lilac, strawberries and pineapple mingle with herbal-tangy, even slightly spicy flavors, a minty-fresh cool back aroma and a long, creamy finish.

shizuku recommends...
... a drinking temperature of cold to cool (5-15°C)
... the Kozaemon Sakura Nama to grilled fish dishes
… this sake to vegetable lasagna or to well-seasoned dishes
... keeping it in the fridge and consume within a few days once opened
